SMALL FRY SKINNY JEAN { FLORAL }

Today I'm checking an item off of my Sewing Bucket List and I'm so excited to share it with you.

I made a pair of Jeans! I can hardly believe it myself. I have never even attempted to make jeans before.  It just seemed like a bunch of unnecessary work.  Why even bother, especially since the Baby Gap does it so well.  Well, I was shocked to learn that these jeans I saw in my instagram feed were made using Titchy Thread's Small Fry Skinny Jeans Pattern.  I had to at least give it a try.

I found this fabric while shopping at the Old Navy.  Yes, you read it correctly. Don't tell me I'm the only person who shops the clearance racks in search of fabric. ha! Whenever I can't find a piece of fabric at the fabric store, I hit up the clearance racks. I usually start in the plus size section, because the garments have the most fabric to work-- with but the options are usually limited. These jeans were a size 20W and I have plenty of fabric left over to make another garment for Grace if I wanted to. 

I cheated a little and reused the original waistband because the buttonhole was too perfect to throw away. I cut the size 3t length and 12-18m leg width to achieve the super skinny look.

Laura has really done a great job with this pattern.  She virtually holds your hand and walks you through each step in the instructions. I found the tips on getting a custom fit and top stitching incredibly helpful.
